Pars Today- Leader of the Islamic Revolution, speaking to thousands of visiting people of Qom on Wednesday on the anniversary of the January 9, 1978 uprising of the people of this city against the dictatorial Pahlavi regime, said that the 46 years of the wrong American calculations and policies towards the Iranian nation have been the continuation of the same wrong calculation of the Americans in analyzing the historical January 9 uprising.
According to Pars Today, pointing to Jimmy Carter’s trip to Tehran on December 31, 1977 and his false description of the Shah and Iran under the Pahlavi rule as the “Island of Stability”, Imam Khamenei added, “The Iran of 1977 which Carter called ideal for the US, was an absolute follower of the Americans and maintainer of their interests in terms of the foreign policy, witnessed severe suppression of all currents opposing and even different from the regime in terms of domestic policy, enjoyed exorbitant revenues from oil sale while strongly divided in classes in terms of economy, was backward in science and technology, and culturally, it was a country where the Western cultural corruption, indecency and decadence were spreading on a daily basis.”

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed, “The January 9 uprising brought out the “Ideal Iran for Americans” out of their clutches. But, the US is still wishing of Iran, yet, as Carter’s wish was not fulfilled, other Americans’ wish will not be fulfilled, either.”
He said that the second lesson of January 9 uprising was the exposure of the American wrong calculation and proving their failure to understand realities of Iran.
The Leader likened the victory of the Islamic Revolution in the heart of “the most important trench of Arrogance” to bringing up Prophet Moses in Pharaoh’s palace and added, “Americans were asleep and the great Islamic Revolution gushed out from the heart of the robust castle of their interests just as Pharaoh was negligent of Prophet Moses’ growing and being brought up in his house.”

Imam Khamenei explained some of the wrong and fruitless policies of the US against the Iranian nation and, with a reference to the issue of sanctions, stated, “As in the sanction, they targeted bringing Iran’s economy to its knees, but the Iranian nation made the highest progress in science and technology during the sanction and its readily active youths came to the field in various spheres.”
Referring to thousands-fold increase of using the propaganda software by Americans in order to stabilize the outcome of application of the hardware, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said, “They massacred tens of thousands of human beings in Gaza, but they failed to destroy resistance with hardware. They martyred a personality like Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and other commanders in Lebanon, too, but Hezbollah did not perish and will not perish, either.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei described Iran as a strategic peak in the world thanks to enjoying precious blessings such as natural facilities, a manpower more advanced than the global average, being located in a good geographical situation and sensitive political geography.
Imam Khamenei, then, pointed to the remarks of some persons who believe that the Islamic Republic should negotiate and have relations with the US just as it has relations with the European countries while they have their embassies in Iran, and reiterated, “The pre-revolution Iran was in the US possession, [but] the Islamic Revolution brought that great political and economic wealth out of the Americans’ control. Thus, their grudge is very deep and this is very different from the European countries.”

The Leader described Imam Khomeini’s message from Najaf after the January 9 event and his giving good news of victory to the Iranian nation as an example of how much he deemed hope important and said, “On the day when the Imam gave the good news of victory of the uprising, who believed that the revolution would triumph and a great and groundbreaking power like the Islamic Republic will sprout to impede many aggressions and wicked goals of the West? And who believed that a day would come when the American flag would be burnt in Western countries and even in Washington?
Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasizing that the regional events such as those of Syria shouldn’t undermine the issue of Palestine, said, “The main core of resistance is steadfastness against the wicked move of the Zionist regime.”
Stressing that resistance is alive and goes from strength to strength every day, the Leader said, “We support resistance in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen and any region which stands and resists against the Zionist regime.”
