Esmaeil Baqaie, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the disrespectful treatment of migrants, including some Iranian citizens, by the U.S. government as unjustified and contrary to human rights norms.
According to Pars Today, Esmaeil Baqaie emphasized the importance of adhering to international norms regarding the treatment of migrants, stating that harsh and inhumane treatment of Iranian citizens is unacceptable. He stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in accordance with its legal duties, spares no effort in protecting the rights of Iranian citizens. Accordingly, appropriate instructions have been issued to Iran’s Interest Section in Washington and other Iranian diplomatic and consular missions in South America to assist any Iranian nationals expelled from the U.S.
