New challenges of the Israeli economy; from rising rehabilitation costs for soldiers to budget allocation for security measures

Pars Today – According to a Zionist media outlet, Israel’s humiliating defeat in operation al-Aqsa Storm has not only resulted in massive human, military, and material losses but has also forced Israel to significantly increase its security and military budget for the next decade.
The Hebrew-language economic newspaper The Marker, citing assessments by the Bank of Israel, reported: “The costs of the war in Gaza have so far amounted to approximately 250 billion shekels for Israel, including direct war expenses, extensive civilian needs, and income losses. However, this figure is only part of the economic disaster that Tel Aviv is facing, as Israel is forced to spend much larger amounts of its budget to provide a sense of security to Israelis.”
As reported by Pars Today, citing Tasnim, the “Nagel Committee,” formed by the Israeli regime’s cabinet to examine the situation, recommended increasing Israel’s military budget by 275 billion shekels over the next decade, meaning an annual increase of 27.5 billion shekels, bringing the total budget to one trillion shekels.
This change could impose a burden of 10,000 shekels on each Israeli, whereas previously, each Israeli’s share was 7,000 shekels.
The Marker added in another part of the report that the major uncertainty in this regard is where this money will come from. Although the ministry of finance has proposed several suggestions, the Nagel Committee has left this issue to the cabinet. However, Tel Aviv has not yet presented any specific solution regarding how to secure these enormous amounts.
One of the most significant economic challenges for Israel is the rising costs of treating and rehabilitating wounded Zionist soldiers, which are expected to increase from the current 3 billion shekels (approximately $800 million) to 8 billion shekels (approximately $2.1 billion) by 2034.
In this context, Isaac Herzog, the head of the Zionist regime, announced on Saturday that the war continues to impose heavy and very painful costs on Israel, with 10 soldiers killed just last week.
The war and Israel’s crimes in Gaza continue as several Zionist media outlets have pointed to the Israeli army’s severe censorship in announcing its casualty figures; a move taken due to the high number of Zionist military casualties in this war and the fear of further domestic reactions in the Occupied Territories.
