Is U.S. president a fool or a villain? What do analysts say about him

Pars Today – An American analyst has called Donald Trump a “complete fool.”
David Brooks, an American political analyst, said: There is a kind of duality of “villain ” or “fool” regarding Trump and his behaviors. However, he is definitely a fool! According to Pars Today, David Brooks, a columnist for The New York Times, wrote:
“Villains, despite their wickedness, understand their interests, whereas fools are boundless in their stupidity—even to the point of harming themselves and their own country. Trump clearly belongs to the latter group.”
Minouche Shafik, a professor at Columbia University, also in an analysis, refers to the U.S. president as a fool who has emptied the country of its discursive and intellectual substance. She believes: “It’s as if he has ushered in an era of monsters in the U.S. and the world!”
Prominent analyst and New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman also warned that Trump is attempting to turn his presidency into a lifelong tenure.
He says: “Trump views the world like a retail shop in Trump Tower. He tells France, for instance, that they’re not paying enough ‘rent’ for their baguette business! He sees Europe as a trade bloc that could exert significant leverage over the U.S., so he prefers to dismantle it and negotiate separately with each country—without grasping the consequences.”
In this regard, Amirali Abolfath, an expert on U.S. affairs, wrote in social media X: “Trump craves eternal power, whether as a lifelong president or a king. But achieving this dream would require either a military coup or a constitutional amendment. The first needs the military’s support, which he lacks, and the second requires Congress and the states, which also won’t back him.”
Meanwhile, Abdolreza Faraji Rad, an international affairs expert, believes that Trump follows a neo-colonial agenda. He said: “The primary goal of the U.S. president is to maintain domestic public opinion and retain his voter base. According to him, Trump has temporarily adopted an authoritarian and bullying policy.
Wall Street Journal analyst Gerard Baker also criticized Trump’s trade wars against other countries, calling them “the most foolish move the U.S. president could have made.” He warned that if such policies continue, they will inflict severe damage on the American economy.
