The secretary of the Eshragh International Religious Film Festival stated that 605 individuals registered for the festival, with a total of 1,108 submissions. The closing ceremony of the fifth Eshragh International Religious Film Festival will be held on Thursday, January 9, in the city of Qom. Mehdi Moeinipour added: “The focus on religious themes in cinema is not limited to Iran; many countries around the world also strive to use cinema as a tool to promote religious concepts. By centering on the religious concepts of Abrahamic faiths, we aim to expand our activities and shape a narrative.” 
Iranian director wins two awards at New York Festival
The honor for Best Short Film Director and the award for Best Short Screenplay at an American festival went to an Iranian filmmaker. Ramin Hosseinpour, the director, writer, and producer of the short film “Sculpture,” won the honors for Best Short Film Direction and Best Short Screenplay at the New York International Film Festival in December 2024 and early January 2025. The short documentary “Sculpture” which covers the biographies of Rumi and Shams Tabrizi in the year 642 AH, is based on a true story and narrative.

Performance depicting the final hours of Jesus Christ’s life
