Pars Today – An Arab world analyst has described the clash between Zelensky and Trump as the beginning of the decline of the West.
Abdul Bari Atwan, an Arab world analyst, commented on Sunday on the verbal confrontation between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine, stating: “The clash between them marks the beginning of the end for both and the collapse of the Western camp.”
According to Pars Today, Atwan, referring to the incident between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, wrote in an article for the newspaper Rai Al-Youm: Trump’s mistake in dealing with Zelensky was that he thought he was dealing with one of the Arab leaders.
He did not expect Zelensky to respond with unexpected courage, engage in a verbal argument with him in front of television cameras, refuse to apologize, and quickly leave the U.S. without signing a trade agreement.
He added: America has lost the war in Ukraine. It is not far-fetched to think that the battle between Zelensky and Trump could mark the beginning of the end for both, the collapse of the Western camp and NATO, and the rise of BRICS.
Trump’s true face revealed
Meanwhile, Simon Walters, an analyst for the British newspaper The Independent, described the argument between the U.S. president and his vice president with the Ukrainian president in front of television cameras as “the most remarkable, brutal, and shocking political event ever seen in a live television broadcast.”
Walters writes: “This event may be more than just a footnote in television history. It may, in fact, be the moment when an entire nation was erased from the world map. Or worse, it could set off events that threaten beyond Ukraine’s borders; a threat to the rest of Europe and, of course, to Britain. This cannot be denied.”
The U.S.-Europe alliance under serious threat
According to Pars Today, the journal Foreign Affairs also emphasized at the beginning of the week, in an analysis referencing the disastrous meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump at the White House, that this incident has shaken the foundation of post-World War II transatlantic relations and intensified speculation about the end of NATO and even the decline of the West.
