Pars Today- A comparison of the situation of the freed Palestinian captives with that of the Israeli ones reveals the human conduct of the resistance forces and another aspect of their victory in the Gaza war.
The behavior of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) during the exchange of Zionist women captives sparked broad reactions towards the way of conduct with Zionist captives. According to Pars Today, Liat Atzili pointed to the good behavior of Hamas with her and said to daily Haaretz that the Palestinian combatants treated her well, didn’t threaten her, let her have her clothes on, and even helped her find her eyeglasses.
She was settled in a house in Khan Yunis and the mother of a Palestinian combatant would soothe her. Resistance combatants provided her with whatever she wanted and let her take a shower and wash her clothes.
Liat confessed that she was quite free and nobody was taking care of her. She could walk in the house freely and could even watch the Al Jazeera channel.
The guards had realized that she was a vegetarian and would even provide her with pizza, fruits, and vegetables.
Daniela is another Israeli captive who wrote to the commanders of Qassam brigades one day before being released, “I thank you wholeheartedly because of the metaphysical humanity towards my daughter, Emilia. You were like parents to her and admitted her to your room whenever she wanted. She felt that you were all her friends and even near ones and real relatives. Children shouldn’t be captivated. But, thanks to your presence and other good people whom we got acquainted with in this way, my daughter considered herself a queen. I will be indebted to you forever since my daughter hasn’t left Gaza with spiritual harm.”
Jochobed Livister was another Israeli captive who said about the humane conduct of Hamas combatants, “When we entered Gaza, they told us that they believed in the Qur’an and were Muslims and would not hurt us. They told us that they would treat us like their near ones. They were very kind and good. They always liked to know if we ate well. Our food was not different from theirs. They behaved us very well and paid attention to every detail.”
Almog Goldstein, a 48-year-old Israeli captive, also told the Israeli TV channel 12 about the conduct of the members of Qassam brigades, “They [Hamas members] were ready to sacrifice their lives to protect me and my three children during the bombardment of Israeli fighter jets. We were at a supermarket when the bombing began. We took shelter behind a bed and the armed Hamas guards stood in front of us to protect us with their bodies.”
Israeli captives confessed on the pleasant conduct of Hamas with them while the journalist of the Zionist channel, Kan, announced that the three female Zionist captives, who were released within the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire, had learned Arabic during 471 days of captivity and are in full health.
Sputnik news agency has also pointed to the pleasant physical conditions of the Zionist female captives after over 400 days and wrote that their good physical conditions reveal to what extent the Palestinian combatants have treated them humanely and morally.
The Hebrew media, too, reported that the Hamas members had given the Zionist captives presents like the map of the Gaza Strip, pictures of captives, and appreciation cards.
