Buying Greenland; American Republicans’ bill of occupation

Pars Today- Republican members of the US House of Representatives have presented a bill to authorize discussing purchase of Greenland.
According to Pars Today, this bill, which has been proposed mainly by GOP Congress members Andy Ogles and Diana Harshbarger under the title of “Make Greenland Great Again Act”, was distributed among US lawmakers. Fox News reported that totally 10 representatives have designed and proposed the bill.
The bill proposes the American President-elect, Donald Trump, to start negotiating with Denmark about the purchase plan on January 20, namely, the Presidential Inauguration day.
Trump has announced that he wants to annex Greenland to the US. He has not ruled out resorting to military and economic pressure to force Copenhagen to give over the Island.
Greenland has been under the Danish rule for the past centuries. This island is presently under the Danish control as a semi-autonomous region. Mute Egede, Prime Minister of Greenland, has enhanced efforts for gaining independence from Denmark as the US has increased pressures for purchasing the island during the recent months. He has emphasized several times that Greenland is not sellable and any decision on the future of the island depends on its people.
In addition to purchasing Greenland, Trump has also proposed to annex Canada to the American soil and seize the Panama Canal.
Experts are of the opinion that these plans once again expose the real view of the US on other countries which is based on superciliousness and hegemony. While nearly one quarter of the 21st century has gone, the United States keeps the same imperialistic view of the 19th and 20th centuries towards other nations. In other words, what matters for Washington are just the US goals and interests even through violation of the right to sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. In view of this, Trump has called for annexing the three strategic regions of Greenland, Canada and Panama Canal to its territory.
Greenland, especially Pituffik Space Base in it, enjoys strategic significance for the US military and the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) of the country as it is considered the nearest route between Europe and north America.
Greenland is the largest island in the world with and area of 2,166,086 square km.
