Pars Today- After the meeting of the terrorist grouplet, known as MKO, in Paris, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman described the France’s connivance and selective treatment of terrorism as an act of infringement.
Esmail Baqaei, Spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Foreign Ministry, condemned France for hosting of the MKO terrorist grouplet and called it a clear manifestation of backing terrorism and the French government’s violation of commitment to the international law to prevent and confront terrorism.
France has hosted the ringleaders of the MKO terrorist grouplet for more than 4 decades. This terrorist outfit has just held a meeting with the presence of a number of frustrated and notorious Western politicians. Holding such meetings with petty European and American politicians, the MKO terrorist grouplet seeks- among other goals- to continue displaying its role as an anti-Iran mercenary for Westerners.
The members of this terrorist grouplet have a very black record of a variety of crimes against the Iranian nation. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, they carried out numerous acts of terror resulting in martyrdom of nearly 17,000 civilians, including top officials and ordinary people.
Moreover, the MKO terrorist grouplet played an active role during the 8-year war imposed by the Iraqi Ba’athist regime on the Islamic Republic of Iran, and suppression of Shia Muslims and Kurds in Iraq. Had the US and European governments- as the masqueraders of fighting terrorism- refrained from supporting the MKO terrorist grouplet, it would have already perished thoroughly.
The United States and some of the European countries had put the name of MKO in the list of terrorist groups, but owing to their enmity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, they omitted it from the list in a bid to use it as a puppet.
After the fall of Saddam and occupation of Iraq, the US maintained the security of Camp Ashraf (residence of MKO terrorists) against any attack. However, due to the pressures of the Iraqi people and government, the American government transferred the MKO terrorists to Albania in return for promises to Tirana, but the ringleaders of this terrorist grouplet have based their activities in France.
The MKO terrorist grouplet holds annual meetings in Paris with a number of former and current American, European and some Arab politicians in attendance. Regarding the US’ enmity and grudge against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the participation of American figures is of high importance in the MKO meetings in Paris. Donald Trump’s Deputy in his first presidency, Mike Pence, his Secretary of State in the upcoming administration, Marco Rubio, Ex-Mayor of New York city, Rudy Giuliani, and former US National Security Advisor, John Bolton, are among the personalities who have participated in the MKO meetings during or after their tenure.
Reuters reported that Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, had attended the MKO meeting on Saturday. Kellogg has already attended these meetings and delivered speeches in them. A look at the long list of the American personalities participating in the MKO meetings reveals that the US government has considered the terrorist grouplet as an instrument, and it is likely that Washington will use the grouplet as a lever of pressure against Iran once Trump comes to power again.
