Pars Today – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized: Expanding relations with neighbors is a definite policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Pars Today citing the website of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s office, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated on Wednesday during a meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation: “One of the declared policies of the Iranian government is to expand relations with neighbors, and by the grace of God, good steps have been taken in this regard, and progress has been made.”
The Leader expressed hope that the agreements reached between Iranian and Qatari officials in Tehran would benefit both countries and that both sides would be able to further fulfill their neighborly duties.
Referring to the Emir of Qatar’s remarks about regional issues, Ayatollah Khamenei added: The Islamic Republic of Iran considers Qatar a friendly and brotherly country, although some ambiguous and unresolved issues remain, such as the return of Iran’s assets transferred from South Korea to Qatar, with the main obstacle to implementing the agreement reached in this regard being the United States.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, expressed his delight at meeting the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and appreciated the Islamic Republic’s positions in supporting the oppressed of the world and the Palestinian people.
Addressing the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Emir of Qatar said: Your Excellency’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people will never be forgotten.
