Mexico protests US Supreme Court ruling in favor of gun manufacturers

Pars Today – The Mexican government has protested a US Supreme Court decision absolving gun manufacturers from responsibility for rising violence in the Latin American country.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized the Court’s unanimous rejection of Mexico’s lawsuit against US gun manufacturers during a press conference, saying: “The US Supreme Court argues that there is no connection between gun production and the transfer of firearms from the US to Mexico, which we strongly disagree with.”
The US Department of Justice acknowledged in an official report this past January that 75% of firearms seized in Mexico were illegally smuggled in from the United States. (IRNA)
