Iran as a peace mediator between india and pakistan; baghaei: the presence of zionists is ominous for any country

Pars Today – The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: The official stance of the American negotiating team is important for us, and that it is up to them how they form this coherence within themselves to adopt reasonable positions.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, during a press briefing on Monday referred to the visit of Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to Pakistan and said: Iran has close ties with Pakistan, and the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visit to Pakistan is within the framework of continuous and close consultations between Iran and neighboring countries.
According to Pars Today, Baghaei said: Regional issues, especially discussions related to the Occupied Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and the issues we face in West Asia, will be on the agenda of Araghchi’s talks with his counterpart. He will also have meetings with the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also referred to Araghchi’s visit to India, and added: Araghchi’s visit to India is planned for participating in the Joint Economic Commission and will take place a few days later. Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan concludes on Monday, and his trip to India is scheduled for Thursday.
Criticizing France’s position
Regarding the remarks of the French Foreign Minister and the bad cop role of the country towards Iran, Baghaei said: We invite France and other European countries to play a constructive role in any negotiation process. Some of the positions stated by France have absolutely no basis and are contrary to the international law. Raising certain demands and issues that have no connection to the negotiations will not be helpful.
Iran’s peaceful nuclear right, a non-negotiable red line
Regarding Trump’s remarks about dismantling Iran’s nuclear facilities, Baghaei stated: Our principled position and framework, based on which we entered into indirect talks with the US are unchangeable; therefore, we will negotiate based on that.
Baghaei continued: Iran’s principled positions regarding the Iranian nation’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy are firm and based on logic and international law. You cannot be a member of a treaty and only fulfill its obligations. Iran’s nuclear program is a very deep-rooted program that dates back to the 1960s.
The reason for the cancellation of talks
In response to a question about whether Netanyahu was trying to design and carry out a kind of coup against Trump through some key individuals in Iran-related policymaking, including the US National Security Advisor, he said: The decision to postpone the negotiations was made at the suggestion of Oman, as the mediator of the negotiations, and the understanding between the three parties. We heard a lot of news. The warmongering and anti-diplomacy spectrum within the US and outside of it, with the Zionist regime at its center, made extraordinary efforts in recent weeks to disrupt the negotiation process. However, for us, the official stance of the American negotiating team is important. How they form coherence within themselves and can adopt reasonable, logical, and realistic positions is up to them.
The ominousness of the Zionist regime’s officials
Referring to the cancellation of Netanyahu’s visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also stated: The visit of the Zionist regime officials to any country is definitely ominous and ill-fated. This regime is condemned for committing the worst crimes against Palestine, and all the people of the world are saddened by these crimes. We also followed it in the media, and we are confident that all countries will be careful about which officials they host. The entire world must act in unison in this regard to prevent the normalization of these crimes.
Readiness for talks with three European countries
Regarding Iran’s negotiations with the political directors of the three European countries (Britain, France, and Germany) in Rome and the fact that these negotiations were canceled, Baghaei stated: There was no cancellation, and it did not convey any specific message; it was solely due to logistical issues. The meeting was supposed to be held alongside the indirect negotiations between Iran and the US in Europe, and we are ready to have another meeting with the agreement of all parties.
Strategic partner
Regarding the strategic treaty between Iran and Russia, he said: The strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran is being pursued seriously. From our side, we have also quickly followed the steps. The bill for the ratification of this treaty was sent by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the President some time ago and is undergoing the legal process of document approval.
Will the snapback mechanism be activated?
Regarding the activation of the snapback mechanism, he stated: We see no reason or legal basis for the activation of the snapback mechanism because Iran’s activities are peaceful. The fact that some parties are trying to abuse this tool and exploit their position in the Security Council to gain leverage in the negotiations is unacceptable to us, and the consequences of using this issue will certainly affect the opposite parties as well.
BRICS Meetings
Regarding the BRICS meetings in Brazil and the presence of Iranian officials, Baghaei stated: Important issues were raised at this meeting, including the expansion of South-South cooperation and the strengthening of relations between developing countries. Collective meetings also took place. Regarding BRICS, this organization, based on the UN Charter, itself requires the creation of regional arrangements for the settlement of disputes and strengthens international norms.
Conflicts Between Pakistan and India
Regarding the conflicts between Pakistan and India, he said: We will spare no effort to de-escalate the situation between the two countries.
