Lazzarini: Israeli aid scheme in Gaza a distraction from war crimes

Pars Today – The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Wednesday criticized a US-backed aid initiative in Gaza this week, calling it disorganized and “a distraction from the atrocities” committed in Gaza.
Speaking at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo, Philippe Lazzarini said the Israeli plan for distributing aid in Gaza does not align with fundamental humanitarian principles. He added: “Yesterday we saw heartbreaking images of starving Palestinians pressing against fences in desperation for food — it was a chaotic, humiliating, and unsafe scene.” / IRNA
