Pars Today- Venezuelan National Council of Elections informed of the victory of the ruling party known as the coalition of “Great Patriotic Pole” (GPPSB) in the parliamentarian and regional elections.
According to Pars Today, Nicholas Maduro, the Venezuelan President, stressed after the announcement of the election results, “We demonstrated the power of Chavis. These results are the victory of peace and stability and this battle belongs to the noble, brave and victorious people of Venezuela.”
Approximately %43 pf the Venezuelan citizens took part in these elections and elected totally 569 candidates, including 285 national parliament representatives (for 2026-2031), 260 state lawmakers (members of legislative councils) and 24 governors of Guayana Esequiba region. Guayana Esequiba is the region where there is an ongoing territorial dispute between Venezuela and Guyana. This region has been illegally occupied by Guyana for years with the support of Britain and Western multinational companies, due to rich mineral resources. Thus, the region enjoys high economic and geopolitical significance. Election of a governor for the region has highlighted the strategic and symbolic aspect of victory in this round of elections. President Maduro, referring to the election of the governor of Guayana Esequiba, emphasized and congratulated the birth of the new Venezuelan governance in the Simon Bolivar land.
The recent parliamentarian and regional elections in Venezuela can be considered as a turning point in the country’s history. These elections showed not only the renewal of legitimacy of the ruling system, but also the sustainable power of Chavism, policies of struggle against colonialism and spread of justice despite internal pressures of the opposition and incessant meddling from outside. In fact, the victory of the ruling party in these elections indicated that, in spite of economic and social problems, the Venezuelan people are still committed to the path of resistance, independence and social justice. This became more remarkable when we take into account the broad all-out sanctions which have been imposed on the country by the US and its European allies. Imposing heavy economic and political sanctions and supporting domestic opponents of Maduro, the United States has been hell-bent on disintegration of Nicholas Maduro government for decades.
However, the results of the recent elections clearly proved that the maximum pressure of Washington and its allies (partners-in-crime) has failed. People voted to the legal structure of the country and proved their devotion to the principles of the Bolivar revolution and political sovereignty and independence of the country. These elections were indeed a great popular referendum against the American and European neo-colonialism.
These results will enable Maduro government to accelerate economic reforms within the framework of the model of “Resistance Economy”. Expansion of infrastructures, inflation control, revival of production centers and easing exports are on the government’s agenda.
As in the social aspect, continuation of the projects in education, social housing, distribution of subsidized foodstuff and easy access to public health will still be the priorities of the Venezuelan government. Despite the policies of the Western regimes, these projects will continue based on the principles of equality and human nobility.
As in the region, too, Venezuela will revive its role as a pioneer in the continental unions such as ALBA, CELAC and UNASUR. The prospect of Venezuela is regional unity based on respect and justice without the interference of imperialist forces.
In sum, one can say that the victory of the ruling party in the Venezuelan elections is not merely an electoral event; it is rather a global declaration that the Venezuelan people will neither give in to sanctions, nor will they accept foreign hegemony. They will persist in the path of independence and justice. The results of these elections, once again, ruled out the hostile policies and threats of the US against Venezuela.
