Pars Today – Sunni scholars of Iran, in a statement, said that the services of Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah to the Palestinian resistance and the Islamic Ummah will never be forgotten.
The funeral of the former Hezbollah Secretary General, Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, caused a wave of sentiments among important dignitaries of Sunni Muslims. Pars Today has chosen a few of these reactions below.
Sunni scholars of Iran said in a statement on Sunday, “The services of the great mujahid, Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, to the Palestinian resistance and the Islamic Ummah, standing against any kind of Zionist-American plot and building of supporting front to help Gaza will never be forgotten.”
The statement continues, “The main duty of the Islamic Ummah is to keep alive the centrality of the issue of Palestine and liberation of al-Qods and al-Aqsa Mosque which is a basic part of the common Qur’anic and divine teachings of the Ummah.”
Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah symbol of Islamic resistance
Mamusta “Mamed Kolshinezhad”, Friday prayer leader of Sunni Muslims in Urmia, northwest of Iran, called Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah as a symbol of Islamic resistance and said, “Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah played a key role not only in the political arena but also in the front of Islamic resistance.” Mamusta Mamed Kolshinezhad added on the character of Martyr Nasrallah, “Relying on Islamic values and liberating ideals, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has managed to affect not just Lebanon but the entire region. His remarks about resistance and unity among Islamic nations would always create the spirit of solidarity and struggle against oppression and arrogance.”
Soldiers of one front beside Sunnis
Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), pointing to Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah’s recommendations for interaction with Sunni Muslims, said on February 16, 2025, “One of the useful points explained to us by Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah as a light in engagement with Sunnis was that he would say, ‘We have no project for Shia-making. This is an allegation against us by the enemy.” Hamid Shahriari added, “Martyr Nasrallah’s view on Gaza was that we are the soldiers of the same front which must stand by Sunnis and help each other, because the enemy is strong. So, we cannot advance without unity and solidarity.”
Head of Iraqi Sunni ulema sheds tears for Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah
The telegram channel, “We stay always with Palestine” released a footage of Sheikh Khaled al-Mala, Head of the Sunni scholars of Iraq while weeping for Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah. This Iraqi Sunni scholar said to the Arabs of the region, “What else do you want from Nasrallah? Nasrallah stood like a dam against the criminal Zionists for 40 years. Had Nasrallah sought the world, he would have lived in Western and Eastern countries and wouldn’t have died. But, he sought dignity and magnanimity for us and our Ummah.”
