Pars Today- Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will participate at high level in the funeral of martyr “Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah”, former Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
The funeral of the former Hezbollah Secretary General “Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah” and former Head of Hezbollah Political Council, “Seyyed Hashem Safieddine” will be held at official and popular levels in Beirut on February 23, with representatives of 79 countries in attendance.
According to Pars Today, Spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqaei, said that the Iranian officials will take part in the ceremony at high level as it is very important.
After one year of unprecedented crimes in the Gaza war, the criminal Israeli regime expanded its crimes to Lebanon since September 23, 2024 and martyred the legendary Secretary General of Hezbollah, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, on September 27 through bombing Dahieh district in the south of Beirut. Seyyed Hashem Safieddine was also martyred in an Israeli airstrike on October 3, 2024.
Iran, Lebanon firmly standing against ill-wishing of third parties
Elaborating about the ban on Iranian flights to Beirut, which was raised in the phone call of the Iranian and Lebanese foreign ministers, Baqaei said, “We have expressed our stances clearly and Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and his Lebanese counterpart had constructive talks [on the issue]. It was stressed during these talks that, regarding the record of relations and mutual interests, Iran and Lebanon should make the best decision and not let the third parties, which do not like good for the two countries and the region, affect this process.”
Future relations with Syria depending on other side’s performance
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman added, “Our stance is fixed and unchangeable about Syria. The fate of Syria should be determined by the Syrian people and without destructive interference of foreigners. We monitor the Syrian developments closely while we are not in hurry. Our decision-making will depend on the performance of other sides.”
Israel unable to do a damn thing
In reaction to the hostile remarks of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, particularly the phrase, “finishing with Iran with the help of the US”, Baqaei said, “These threats are basically translated into flagrant violation of the UN Charter in the ideal world and anyone who utters such threats must be arraigned internationally. As for a country like the Islamic Republic of Iran, the answer is that they cannot do a damn thing.”
American officials’ deeds and words not consistent
In response to a question on the remarks of the American president’s representative for West Asian affairs, regarding the US’ preparedness to negotiate with Iran, the Iranian diplomat said, “Words and deeds should be the same. You cannot threaten to destroy on the one hand, while claiming to be advocates of negotiation. These remarks are not consistent and are full of contradiction.”
