Pars Today – Experts in Kenya and Chile believe that their countries joining the BRICS group will create new opportunities for both nations.
Gloria de la Fuente, Chile’s Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, announced on Saturday that the country is exploring the possibility of joining the BRICS+ group as part of its strategy to diversify its political and commercial relations. According to Pars Today, citing the international television network “TV BRICS,” de la Fuente referred to Chile’s invitation to participate in the BRICS summit, deeming it a sign of the country’s international credibility. She emphasized the necessity of developing processing industries and attracting environmentally friendly technologies.
Meanwhile, Kenyan President William Ruto recently announced that Kenya has expressed its readiness to participate in BRICS cooperation mechanisms.
Professor X. N. Iraki from the University of Nairobi believes that Kenya, with strong economic and diplomatic ties to BRICS members, can benefit from advantages such as access to advanced technologies and industrial development.
Analysts believe that Kenya’s strategic position in East Africa could make it BRICS’s gateway to the African continent.
