Pars Today – The Malaysian Minister of Health, in a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, stated: Iran’s health sector, including the pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, and liver and kidney transplantation, has made excellent progress; we need to benefit from Iran’s experiences in kidney and liver transplantation.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRIB News Agency, during the meeting between Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi and Menteri Kesihatan, the Ministers of Health of Iran and Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, the two sides emphasized developing cooperation in the health sector.
Referring to Iran’s successes in organ transplantation, the Malaysian Minister of Health called for benefiting from Iran’s experiences in this field and expanding interactions in the fields of medicine, medical equipment, and human resource training.
Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, also said: We have 20 kidney transplant centers in Iran, and thousands of kidney transplants have been performed in these centers so far. You can introduce your surgeons; we will provide them with the necessary training by holding fellowship and subspecialty courses.
Iranian and Turkish health ministers emphasize exchanging experiences in the field of family medicine
The Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education also held talks with Turkish Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, on the sidelines of this meeting, regarding the expansion of cooperation in various health fields. Zafarghandi stated in this meeting: Given the signing of a comprehensive health memorandum of understanding in 2018, the implementation of operational and executive programs is on the agenda for both parties.
Zafarghandi added: In Iran, we are implementing a family medicine system and a referral system, and we have good experiences in this area. Turkey has also made significant progress in this field. We are willing to exchange and benefit from the experiences of both countries.
Turkey’s Minister of Health, Kamal Memişoğlu also said during the meeting: We are very keen to cooperate with Iran in all areas of health by forming a technical team from both countries. Regarding Turkey’s experiences in family medicine and the referral system, we invite Iranian specialists to visit Turkey and benefit from our experiences.
Iranian and Iraqi health ministers emphasize medical cooperation during Arbaeen ceremony
The Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education also met with Iraqi Minister of Health, Salih al-Hasnawi, on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva to discuss expanding cooperation in various health fields.
During the meeting, Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, emphasizing the importance of the friendly and neighborly relations between the two countries, added: Given the deep ties between Iran and Iraq, it is necessary for our cooperation in the health sector to be very close and purposeful.
Zafarghandi also referred to the annual grand Arbaeen ceremony of Imam Hussein (peace be upon Him), noting: Given the importance of public health in this major event, it is essential that bilateral cooperation for controlling and preventing diseases be pursued in a cohesive and continuous manner.
For his part, Iraq’s Minister of Health Saleh Al-Hasnawi, said: The relationship between Iran and Iraq is not a political one; it’s a brotherly relationship. We are currently engaged in various collaborations with Iran’s Food and Drug Administration and Iran’s pharmaceutical industry for knowledge transfer. Saleh Al-Hasnawi added: We must also have close cooperation with each other for the annual Arbaeen ceremony and disease control.
