Pars Today- Iran’s former envoy to Lebanon said that resistance is not limited to Palestine and its impact encompasses the region, too.
Former Iranian Ambassador in Lebanon, Seyyed Ahmad Dastmalchian, said, “The course of developments indicates that the resistance will be more powerful in future and will create fateful scenes in historical junctures.” According to Pars Today, speaking to IRNA, Dastmalchian said about the future of the resistance front and the course of regional developments, “Since the crushing defeats of the Zionist regime against Hezbollah in 2006 in political wars, it has failed to achieve any of its goals in any war. One of the great defeats of this regime was the forcible exit from Lebanon in 2000 which is known as a turning point in history of the region. But, the most important turning point was when the Zionist regime had decided to compensate the bitter defeat of the past with full preparation. Yet, it not only failed but also sustained a more crushing defeat.”
Referring to many times of claiming by the regime to liberate its captives, destroy the tunnels of resistance and annihilate Hamas, the former Iranian diplomat noted, “It not only failed to do this, but also we witnessed the display of the power of Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. When the Palestinian refugees came back home, and even at the time of releasing the Zionist regime captives, the world looked the power and awe of resistance with amazement.”
Dastmalchian added, “The Zionist regime was using the scorched earth policy to force the Gazans to migrate and empty the region from any inhabitant. But, it failed in this goal, too. Finally, despite using every military and political tool to suppress resistance, [the regime] itself was forced to retreat with defeat and humiliation.”
Iran’s former envoy to Beirut made it clear, “The military capabilities of Hezbollah in the 33-day war proved that resistance is able to stand against equipped armies.”
He stated, “The point to note is that, in this war, resistance practically fought the US and not just the Zionist regime. Had there not been the arms, technical and intelligence assistance of the US to the Zionist regime, this regime had crumbled on the first day. The US had created a direct air bridge to send arms.”
Dastmalchian also said, “This reality should be recorded in history that the firm will of the resistance mujahedin will never be defeated. Resistance is an ideological current and school which is originated in the will of people to defend their rights. No false power has been able throughout history to bring to their knees the people who fight for determining their own fate. This path might be long and costly, but it is the will of nations which will triumph in the end. Historical evidence proves this reality and today, also, we can see how the will of people overcomes the military and unity of enemy and, finally, victory is with nations.”
