Pars Today- Iran’s minister of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts met and conferred with Pope Leo XIV in Vatican.
In continuation of cultural diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with the aim of bolstering international dialogue based on human dignity, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, met with the new Vatican Leader, Pope Leo XIV. According to Pars Today’s report on Monday, this meeting was held in a mutually respectful and spiritual climate between the Iranian senior representative and the head of the Catholic Church.
Salehi Amiri said during the meeting, “We believe that the divine religions are rooted in a single reality which invites man to magnanimity, affection and peace.”
Stressing that Iran’s message is beyond politics and is based on culture and civilization, he made it clear, “Our cultural heritage is a language for global relationship and this language is the need of the world today for building a more humane future.”
Salehi Amiri described the meeting, “beyond a dialogue and manifestation of a mutual civilizational understanding” and added, “We have come to Vatican to bring the voice of the cultural Iran, faithful Iran and peace-seeking Iran to the world. This meeting was a symbolic moment, but it will have a durable reflection.”
Pope Leo XIV, for his part said, appreciated the profound history and culture of the Iranian nation and said, “When faith speaks with the tongue of respect and dialogue, it can build a world anew. We welcome every effort for bringing hearts and nations closer to each other.”
