Us credit rating downgraded after 108 years

Pars Today – On Saturday, the credit rating agency Moody’s downgraded the United States’ credit rating for the first time in over a century, citing growing concerns about Washington’s ability to repay its debts.
Moody’s, which has existed for 116 years, had rated the US at its highest possible level (Triple-A) since 1917. Previously, rival agencies Fitch Ratings and S&P had downgraded the US credit rating from AAA to AA+.
Moody’s stated that the downgrade reflects a decade-long increase in US government debt and a rising debt-to-interest payment ratio that exceeds acceptable thresholds. (IRNA)
