Celebrating ‘ferdowsi day’ and persian language & literature in china

Pars Today – Coinciding with May 15th (25th of Ordibehesht in the Iranian calendar), which is designated as the day of commemoration of Hakim Abolghassem Ferdowsi, the Iranian epic poet and creator of the Shahnameh, and the preservation of Persian language and literature, a ceremony was held at the University of Economics and International Relations in Beijing, the capital of China.
In the commemoration ceremony of Hakim Abolghassem Ferdowsi, which was organized by the cultural counselor of the Iranian Embassy in China and with the support of the Persian Language and Literature Department of the University of Economics and International Relations in Beijing, professors of Persian language and literature from Chinese universities spoke about the characteristics of Abolghassem Ferdowsi, the Shahnameh, and the manifestation of cultural commonalities between Iran and China in the enduring work of this epic poet from the Iranian city of Tous. Rhythmic recitation of Ferdowsi’s verses, performances based on Shahnameh stories, and Shahnameh reading by Chinese students of Persian language and literature were other parts of the ceremony./ IRIB news agency
