Imam Khamenei: Islamic civilization opposite of current ill-natured material civilization

Pars Today- The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a message to the conference of “100th Anniversary of Re-foundation of Qom Hawza”, stressed, “The most important duty of the Hawza (seminary) is the clear communication and setting the ground for the new Islamic civilization.”
Imam Khamenei, in a message on Wednesday to the conference of 100th anniversary of re-foundation of Qom seminary, explained the history of formation of the Hawza (seminary) of Qom amidst the great and horrendous events of early 14th solar Hijri century and the role of Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Karim Haeri Yazdi in foundation, durability and growth of the seminary. According to Pars Today, the Leader added, “One of the honors of Qom seminary is that a sun like Imam Khomeini rose from it and, in less than 6 decades, brought his spiritual power and popular reputation to the point that he succeeded to uproot the treacherous, corrupt and transgressive kingdom by the hands of people and bring Islam to the political governance of the country after centuries.”
Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasizing that the seminary is not merely an institution of teaching and studying, but a complex of knowledge, education and social and political usages, clarified the headings which can make the seminary “Pioneer and Eminent” in the real sense.
The Leader said that among the important duties of the seminary, as a valuable scientific center with one-thousand-year scientific background, is to answer the issues pertaining to Islamic ruling and the way of administration of society. He added, “The issues such as the relations of government with people and with other governments and nations, the issue of Nafy-e Sabil (negation of dominance of foreigners), economic system and principled pillars of the Islamic system, source of governance in view of Islam, people’s role in it and the stance on important issues and against the domineering system, the concept and content of justice and tens of other basic and sometimes vital issues, are among the issues which should have jurisprudential responses.”
He enumerated familiarity of the seminary with the modern findings of the world and cooperation with academic centers as essential points in designing and regulations of social orders.
Imam Khamenei called civilizational innovations within the framework of Islam’s global message as the fifth heading of “Pioneer and Eminent Seminary” and stressed, “The most outstanding expectation from the seminary is to pave the ground for establishment of Islamic civilization; a civilization in which knowledge, technology, human sources, natural resources, all capabilities, every human progress, government, policy, military force and whatever is in man’s control, will be at the service of social justice, public welfare, reduction of class gap, increasing spiritual training and scientific upgrading, increasing recognition of nature and consolidation of faith.”
The Leader described the Islamic civilization as the opposite point of the ill-natured material civilization of the present day, and emphasized, “This false civilization, based on the definite law of creation, will perish and it is our duty to help this falsity perish, and the seminary assumes a grave duty in this regard which, first of all, is to draw up the main and auxiliary outline for the new Islamic civilization and then clarify and promote it and culturally prepare the society for it; and this is among the top manifestations of clear communication.”
