Trump's peace promises, bloody reality of yemen; carnage of civilians while world keeps silent

Pars Today- In clear contrast to what Donald Trump’s rhetoric on peace, continuation of US air raids in Yemen has increased civilian casualties remarkably.
According to the reports, in less than three months after Donald Trump’s taking oath of presidency, the number of civilian victims has seriously increased in Yemen, as Washington, in its new strategy, has ignored the previous restrictions for supporting civilians.
Independent reports indicate that the American attacks on Yemen in just one operation, dubbed as “Rough Rider”, resulted in the death of at least 158 and injury of hundreds of others. This figure, in comparison with Joe Biden tenure (85 dead in one year), shows a worrying rise. One of the bloodiest attacks was the bombing of a center for detained migrants in Saada which caused the death of 68. According to Pars Today, quoting from Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Trump had claimed in his presidential campaign that he is the “Peace Candidate”. But, military attacks after his coming to the White House, not only have not decreased clashes in Yemen, but they have also aggravated humanitarian crisis through escalation of bombardments.
While Yemen is beleaguered with famine and destruction after 11 years of war, the recent American attacks on vital facilities, such as Ras Isa port (causing 80 deaths), have made conditions more critical. It appears that Pentagon, under Trump management, has paid less attention to the previous policies of reduction of civilian casualties.
The closure of the Pentagon office of “Work on Preventing Civilians Harm”” by secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth corroborates this claim. This approach is similar to the moves of the Zionist regime in Gaza which have increased global concerns over violation of international law.
The US’ traditional bond with allies such as Britain has also been affected by these policies. London has not taken part in the recent operations and has even stopped fueling the American warplanes. This reveals the difference of opinion among Western allies on escalation of violence. Although the US Central Command (CENTCOM) claims that the American attacks against Ansarullah have decreased %69, the trade data indicate that security in the Red Sea has not been restored.
Experts believe that sustainable solution will materialize through diplomacy and prevalent ceasefire rather than escalation of war. In sum Trump’s military policies in Yemen have not only violated peace promises, but also aggravated humanitarian crisis. Increase of civilian casualties, decrease of humanitarian commitments and negative reaction of the international community reveal the challenges ahead of this strategy. It seems that the only way of exit is to return to negotiations and stop useless violence.
