The End of humanity; UN Secretary-General: Conditions in Gaza beyond imagination

Pars Today – The Secretary-General of the United Nations has said that the humanitarian situation throughout the Gaza Strip has deteriorated from bad to worse, beyond what can be imagined.
António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, said on Tuesday during a Security Council meeting about the situation in the Middle East: “The Middle East is undergoing fundamental changes amidst violence and instability. For nearly two full months, Israel has blocked food, fuel, medicine, and commercial supplies, depriving over two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip of vital aid.”
According to Pars Today citing IRNA, Guterres emphasized the need for a political transition that ensures accountability, strengthens national healing, and lays the foundation for Syria’s long-term recovery and greater integration into the international community. He added: “The people across the Middle East deserve a better future, not endless conflict and suffering.”
The UN Secretary-General continued: “The relentless conflict and devastation in the Gaza Strip include utterly inhumane living conditions imposed on its people—people who have been repeatedly attacked, confined to ever-smaller spaces, and deprived of vital assistance.”
Guterres stressed: “Gaza is an inseparable part of the future Palestinian state and must remain so. The Security Council, in accordance with international law, has rejected any attempt to alter the demographics or territory of the Gaza Strip, including any actions that would reduce its area.”
The Zionist regime, with the support of the U.S. government, launched a devastating war against the residents of the Gaza Strip from October 7, 2023, to January 19, 2025, causing widespread destruction and significant loss of life but failing to achieve its stated objectives of annihilating the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and freeing its captives.
On January 19, 2025, based on an agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime, a ceasefire was established in the Gaza Strip. However, at dawn on Tuesday, March 18, the regime’s army violated the ceasefire terms and resumed its military incursions into the Gaza Strip. Efforts by various countries to halt the Zionist regime’s crimes against the vulnerable women and children of Gaza have so far been unsuccessful.
