Pars Today – Political analysts, referring to U.S. airstrikes on Yemen, have reported on Washington’s failure to achieve its objectives in this war.
Al Jazeera reported that analysts believe U.S. President Donald Trump has reached a deadlock in his confrontation with Yemen’s Ansarullah and will likely try to ease tensions before his regional trip.
According to the Pars Today, the report stated: After about six weeks of extensive U.S. attacks on regions and cities in Yemen, Ansarullah continues its operations in the Red Sea and against Israeli targets, linking the halt of these attacks to Israel’s war on Gaza. Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, announced attacks on the U.S. naval fleet, particularly the USS Truman in the northern Red Sea, while U.S. fighter jets bombed the Ras Issa oil port in the Al Hudaydah province in response.
In this context, Liqqa Makki, a senior analyst at the Al Jazeera Studies Center, said: The U.S. has suffered a significant defeat in its attacks on Yemen because it has admitted it does not have the capability to enter the second phase of the war and is seeking an alternative, which is halting military attacks against Yemen.
She added: “Donald Trump, the U.S. president, has hit a dead end, and it has become clear that his set goals regarding Yemen’s resistance are unrealistic; despite its military power, the United States has been rendered incapable in Yemen.”
This senior analyst from the Al Jazeera Studies Center suggested that a ceasefire in Gaza might be announced before Trump’s trip to the region so that Ansarullah would stop its attacks, especially since they have tied halting their attacks to the cessation of the Gaza war and U.S. strikes.
Brigadier General Elias Hanna, an expert on military and strategic affairs, also commented on this matter, saying: America’s image has been damaged due to the scale of the military attack and Trump’s engagement in a war with Yemen’s Ansarullah.
He added: Washington lacks a comprehensive strategy in dealing with Yemen’s resistance, and its declared political goal—restoring deterrence capabilities and reopening shipping routes in the region—has not been achieved.
Brigadier General Elias Hanna emphasized: Given Washington’s inability to achieve its objectives against Yemen, the pressure the U.S. exerts on Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, to allow aid into Gaza is aimed at satisfying Yemen’s Ansarullah to halt its attacks in the Red Sea and against Israeli targets. Moreover, Trump’s upcoming trip to the region requires calming the situation.
Al Jazeera further reported that some reports indicate the cost of U.S. airstrikes on Yemen in the first three weeks of the war was approximately one billion dollars.
The Associated Press also reported that the value of seven downed U.S. drones in Yemen exceeds two hundred million dollars, and the continuous damage to U.S. drones makes it difficult for U.S. command to accurately assess the damage inflicted on Ansarullah’s weapon stockpiles.
