Pars Today- Lebanese president, in his meeting with the US special envoy, stressed that the Israeli regime should be committed to implementation of resolution 1701 and end invasion of the Lebanese soil.
According to Pars Today, Morgan Ortagus, the US President’s Special Envoy to West Asia, met and conferred with the Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, in Baabda Palace of Beirut on Saturday.
According to the report, Lebanon’s president said about his meeting with Ortagus, “We emphasize the need to implement Resolution 1701 of the UN Security Council and the necessity of abiding by it by Israel.”
Aoun added, “It is Israel which has violated the ceasefire, and the aggression and violations [of ceasefire] by Israel should be stopped.”
He made it clear, “During the meeting, we also stressed that the Lebanese army has adopted every measure and is fulfilling its role in the Lebanese regions which have been liberated [from the Israeli occupation].”
Joseph Aoun underscored the end of aggression by the Zionist regime while Sheikh Naim Qasem, Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, warned in his latest speech, “If Israel thinks that it can impose new equations through attacks on Dahieh, south and Beqaa, this is totally ruled out.”
He stressed, “Israel must not underestimate our remarks, as there will be other options on the table in case of this regime’s lack of commitment.”
Rejecting Israeli hitting of Lebanon freely and embarking on aggression whenever it wishes, the Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General added, “We won’t let anyone take away our power in confronting Israel.”
He made it clear, “If we have been patient till now, this patience was for giving chance, but the officials of the country should know that everything has a limit.”
