Protesters against granting broad authorities to the American billionaire, Elon Musk, by the US government demonstrated across the US and some of the European countries, especially against his move to fire the personnel of Federal government institutions. These demonstrations were staged in front of exhibitions and agencies of Tesla cars belonging to Musk.
The banners of demonstrators read, “Musk steals our money” and “Take back our country”. Some of the protesters also called for closing the Department of Government Efficiency run by Elon Musk. Musk has recently embarked on firing government staff in a bid to reduce expenses.
 
2 killed and 4 injured in shooting in US
American officials announced on Saturday that during a shooting in Takoma city, Washington state, two people were killed and 4 others were injured. The victims are aged 16-21. Police announced in a notice that the houses and cars around the shooting scene are harmed. A man has been detained in this regard. Gun Violence Agency (GVA) had already announced that more than 42,000 were killed in the US with cold weapons and firearms in 2023.
 
US likely to take military measure to seize Greenland
The US President, Donald Trump, in an interview broadcast on NBS News on Sunday morning, stated that Greenland would definitely be annexed to the US, while he didn’t rule out military measure to achieve this goal. Trump said, “There is a high possibility that we will have Greenland without using military force, but I don’t rule out any move to possess this island and don’t remove any option off the table.” The Danish and Greenland officials have always rejected the claims of the US officials and announced that Greenland is not sellable and won’t be Americanized.
 
Doctor dismissed in US due to publishing anti-Zionist posts
Iranian doctor, Leila Abbasi, working in Mount Sinai hospital of New York city, was dismissed because of publishing posts against the Zionist regime army and criticizing carnage of newborns by the regime. Daily New York Post, quoting from Mount Sinai hospital’s spokesperson, wrote on Saturday that this physician was fired in early March due to publishing messages in support for Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah on cyberspace. Abbasi had written in these messages, “Long Live Hamas and Hezbollah”, called the Israeli military as “plague” and accused the regime of massacring children.
 
US lawmaker: Trump administration intent to suppress protesters via intimidation of students
Ayana Pressley, member of the US House of Representatives, published a statement on X social network on Saturday whereby she lambasted the detention of Rümeysa Öztürk, pro-Palestine student in Summerville, Massachusetts, and accused Donald Trump administration of intimidating students and suppression of protests in the country. Her statement reads, “Öztürk was going for Iftar (breaking her fasting) when the plainclothes officers surrounded her, took her cellphone and handcuffed her. She doesn’t have her asthma medicine with her which is in violation of human rights.” This Democratic representative added, “The Trump administration intimidates students to suppress protests. This is what a dictator does. This is attacking the main bases of democracy.” It should be noted that hundreds of people demonstrated on Wednesday in Massachusetts against detention of this student and called for her immediate freedom.
