Pars Today- The Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign minister, condemning repeated military aggressions of the US on different regions of Yemen, said, “The American military aggression on Yemen coincides with escalation of genocide by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and its aggressions against Lebanon and Syria, and consonance with this regime to spread insecurity and instability in the region.”
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, in his Saturday meeting with Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, who has traveled to Tehran to consult with Iran’s officials, expressing regret over the US’ unreal perception of the Yemeni people and the region, stressed, “The American policymakers should understand that the root cause of insecurity in the region is the persistence of occupation and genocide in the Occupied Palestine and the US cannot claim to restore stability in the region through attacking Yemen and massacring its innocent people whose only guilt is to express sympathy with and support the oppressed people of Palestine.”
According to Pars Today, while criticizing the UN Security Council’s inaction towards blatant violations of the principles of the UN Charter and international law by the Zionist regime and the US, Araghchi emphasized the UN immediate and effective measure to stop violation of law and disrespect of international norms.”
Grundberg, for his part, congratulated Nowruz Eid al-Fitr feasts to the Iranian foreign minister and appreciated the continuation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the UN role and efforts to pursue peace process in Yemen.
The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, also, offering a report of his recent trip to Brussels and consultations with the EU officials and the latest efforts and pursuit by the UN to help improve the conditions of Yemen to establish peace and calm in the country, made it clear, “Reaching stability and peace in Yemen is an immediate need not just for Yemenis but for security and stability in the whole region, and the United Nations has employed all its potentials for the purpose.”
