Pars Today – The representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran said: Quds Day is an opportunity to foster unity. On this day, the Islamic Ummah renews its covenant with God regarding the issue of Palestine.
Quds Day has led to the unification and strengthening of Islamic resistance in the region. According to Pars Today, quoting Mehr News Agency, all branches of the resistance, whether Sunni or Shia, have come to the conclusion that the only way to liberate Holy Quds and free Palestine is to support the cause of Quds and resist the usurpers of occupied Palestine, who have practically come and engaged in occupation here.
International Quds Day is a day when all deceitful actions of America and the Zionist regime is exposed, a day when the flag of religious values is raised, and the flag of oppression and tyranny is taken down.
Some leaders of so-called Islamic countries remain indifferent to Palestine and its cause, supporting the oppressive, usurping, and occupying Zionist regime through their silence. Yet, as Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul) stated, if Muslims unite and each Muslim pours a bucket of water, the entire Zionist regime would be swept away and drowned.
International Quds Day is an opportunity to demonstrate Muslim unity, showing the world that they will stand against oppression and tyranny.
Nevertheless, this year’s Quds Day, marking its 46th anniversary under the shadow of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, holds special significance due to the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Trump’s proposed forced displacement plan for Palestinians, and the uprising of students in the United States and various European countries against governments supporting the Gaza genocide.
In this regard, Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran, spoke with Iran’s Mehr News Agency, addressing key points, the details of which follow:
At the beginning of the interview, Nasser Abu Sharif stated: Undoubtedly, this year’s International Quds Day carries special importance given the complex conditions in the region and the world, the Zionist regime’s attacks, and Trump’s rise to power.
He added: With Trump’s rise, we are not witnessing a global order but rather a kind of global thuggery and chaos-making. We are experiencing a major shock that has trampled all international laws and treaties. We are witnessing Zionist projects backed by the United States.
According to him, this year’s Quds Day is an opportunity to unite all efforts around the axis of Palestine. Approaches must be redirected toward Quds. Islamic strength must be forged against Trump’s bullying. Trump imagines himself a global deity, a supreme power on Earth.
Meanwhile, alongside Trump, a fascist terrorist group has risen to power, and we are witnessing the fragmentation of Arab regimes, some of which are not only humiliated and submissive but also traitorous toward the Palestinian cause.
The representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran continued: In the current situation, we must rely on the masses. We must rebuild our components of strength because, globally, we are the majority, not the minority.
We can stand against American-Zionist projects. Internal divisions have held us back. Quds Day is a day to create unity. On Quds Day, the Islamic Ummah renews its covenant with God regarding the issue of Palestine.
Nasser Abu Sharif further noted: Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul), by designating International Quds Day, presented an Islamic project to humanity.
Quds Day is an invitation rooted in Islamic thought that guides life and existence. Imam’s initiative in naming International Quds Day led to the creation of the Axis of Resistance. Since the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1924, we had lacked an Islamic project. Imam Khomeini, through the Islamic Revolution, revived the vitality of Islam.
He said: The issue of Quds is politically and strategically significant, capable of uniting everyone. Quds is not an ordinary geography. Quds is the first Qibla of Muslims worldwide and holds religious significance. Quds was the site of the Prophet’s (PBUH) ascension.
Quds is the focal point of global conflicts between the Islamic Ummah and the Zionists. Quds shows the path of the Islamic Ummah. Quds can gather the components of the Islamic world’s strength against American-Zionist policies around itself.
