Russia: Ukraine cannot join NATO / Germany: Russia is a threat to NATO / Former Pentagon analyst: Perhaps US no longer wants NATO

Pars Today – Russia has warned that North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) must retreat from its promise to grant membership to Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that NATO should abandon its 2008 pledge to include Ukraine in this military alliance. According to Pars Today, “Maria Zakharova,” the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Tuesday that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is unacceptable for Russia.

Germany’s claim: Russia is a threat to NATO
Despite global efforts to end the war in Ukraine and establish peace with Russia, Berlin officials are making provocative statements in an attempt to escalate tensions.
“Boris Pistorius,” Germany’s Defense Minister, claimed early Wednesday morning that even if the war in Ukraine ends, the threat posed by Russia to NATO members will remain. Pistorius claimed: “Our experts estimate that within 4 to 7 years, Russia could attack NATO member countries.”

Russia: Ukraine can join the EU but not NATO
“Dmitry Peskov,” the Kremlin spokesperson, said on Tuesday during talks between U.S. and Russian teams in Saudi Arabia: Ukraine has the right to join the European Union, but NATO is different. Peskov added, “Joining the European Union is a sovereign right of any country, and no one should decide this matter for another nation.” He emphasized that security issues and membership in military alliances like NATO are entirely different matters, and Russia’s position on this issue is clear.

European Union: Russia does not want peace!
“Kaja Kallas,” the European Union’s foreign policy chief, also claimed on Tuesday that it is too early to discuss a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine because Russia does not want peace! She stated, “We must focus on Ukraine’s situation so that it can reject a bad deal with Russia.”
Earlier, “Rudion Miroshnik,” a special envoy from the Russian Foreign Ministry, had emphasized that forces entering Ukraine under the guise of “peacekeepers” without Moscow’s consent would be considered legitimate targets for the Russian armed forces.

American analyst: Riyadh talks could mark the end of NATO
“Michael Maloof,” a former analyst at the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), said that holding talks between U.S. and Russian officials in Riyadh regarding the Ukraine war could signal the end of NATO.
Maloof believes that the end of NATO means that Europe may eventually form regional defense alliances, but it will no longer be able to establish a cohesive military union among 32 countries. He emphasized that given the current conditions, European countries will never be able to reach consensus on any issue. As it stands now, there is no cohesion within the European Union or NATO.
