The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on Wednesday, coinciding with National Arbor Day, after planting three saplings, described tree planting as a profitable action, a sign of foresight, and a means of wealth creation. The Leader also emphasized the need for serious attention to the national tree-planting movement, which was initiated last year under the administration of the martyred President Raeisi, stating: “All people should participate in tree planting as a righteous and virtuous act so that with an increase in trees, the living environment gains freshness and vitality.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described his annual act of planting saplings as a symbolic gesture to remind people that planting trees is not limited to youth and that individuals of all ages should feel enthusiasm and motivation toward this important, great, necessary, and beautiful task.
Imam Khamenei, emphasizing that tree planting is a profitable investment in various ways and a source of wealth creation, noted: “Planting trees, whether for the purpose of benefiting from the fruit of productive trees or for using the wood of valuable trees, is a completely profitable action with no loss involved.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called trees and cultivated lands a factor in air quality and, stressing the utmost importance of the environment, stated: “Trees and growing plants, in addition to improving the air, bring freshness to the living environment and the ecosystem, as well as spiritual vitality to humans, because trees and plants are pleasing to the eye and heart.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizing the need to take the national tree planting movement—started during Martyr Raeisi’s tenure—seriously, stated: “This plan, which began last year and continues, shows that planting one billion trees in four years is feasible, and government institutions must assist the people in this regard.”
Imam Khamenei, warning against the cutting of trees and the conversion of agricultural land use, added: “Cutting down trees, except in technical and necessary cases, is a loss and a danger, and the destruction of forests and conversion of agricultural lands must be prevented.”
The Leader also pointed to the good efforts made in this regard in Tehran and some other cities in Iran, noting: “These efforts must continue.”
