Prophet of Islam warns on recitation of Qur’an without contemplation

Pars Today- A religious expert said that the main preoccupation of the Prophet of Islam (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny) was to make societies on the basis of the holy Qur’an. He added, “This much of recommendation by the Prophet to memorize and write down the Qur’an was aimed at making it present in the society.”
The Prophet of Islam said, “Woe upon the one who articulates the Qur’an between his lips, but does not contemplate on it.”
According to Pars Today, quoting from Mehr news agency, Hojjat-ol-Islam Ali Taqizadeh, Head of Dar-ol-Qur’an Karim of Iran, mentioning a verse of the Qur’an, said, “God says in chapter Al-e Imran, ‘Remember when Allah made a covenant with those who were given the Book to explain it for the people and not conceal it.’
Taqizadeh added, “However, some people do not transmit God’s word and everyone likes to lead the people in a direction in which he can gain his vested interests easily.”
Noting that God has made a covenant with those who should explain His verses to the people, this expert continued, “Making a covenant means making a firm treaty with individuals. But, God says since this covenant was not practiced, people were led in other directions.”
This religious expert said that recitation of the Qur’an and [engagement in] Qur’anic arts should be as a prelude for making close relation with this Book, and stressed, “Making close relation with the Qur’an is the prelude for contemplation on it and once individuals contemplate on the Qur’an a society will become Qur’anic.”
Taqizadeh stated, “Thanks to the Islamic Revolution in the Iranian society, when ulema speak, people say that they are uttering the word of God and religion and I hope the trend of contemplation on the Qur’an will internalize the word of God in the society. Tadabbor (contemplation) means thinking [deeply] in the senses of the verses of the Qur’an and the relation among their concepts. Contemplation on the Qur’an and understanding its meaning have been highly emphasized in the Qur’an and the remarks of the Prophet of Islam and his [grand]children.”
This expert of the Qur’an continued, “One of the codes of recitation of the Qur’an is to pay attention to the meanings of the Qur’an and thinking on its verses, since the aim of sending down the Qur’an is to practice its verses; and paying attention to the meanings and contemplation on the Qur’an is a prelude and opening to practicing its recommendations and orders.”
