Which work is called “Evangel of Ahl al-Bayt”?

Pars Today- Sahifa Sajjadia is one of the written works of Imam Sajjad (Peace upon him), the grand-grand-son of the Prophet of Islam. This book is known as the “Sister of Qur’an”, “Evangel of Ahl al-Bayt” and “Psalms of Ahl al-Bayt of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny)” among the ulema and religious dignitaries.
Sahifa Sajjadia is a collection of prayers and supplications attributed to Imam Sajjad (the fourth Infallible Successor of the Prophet of Islam). It contains 54 prayers and supplications which he dictated to his two sons, Imam Baqer and Zaid, and they wrote it down in two versions. Pars Today has cast a look at this book here.
Imam Sajjad, also known as Imam Zain al-Abedin, was born on Sha’ban 5, 38 AH. He was present in the tragic event of Karbala where his father Imam Hossein and other grandchildren of the Prophet of Islam were martyred. But, due to serious disease, he was not able to participate in the battle. During his 34-year Imamate (divinely decreed leadership of mankind), Imam Sajjad established a discourse of prayer, spirituality and rights which revived the name and memory of the Prophet and his Ahl al-Bayt to the chagrin of the enemies.
Sahifa Sajjadia, as the priceless heritage of the school of the Ahl al-Bayt, is the Zabur-e Al-e Mohammad (Psalms of Progeny of Mohammad), as Imam Khomeini called it. Although the apprearance of this book is prayer and supplication, it includes many Islamic teachings, Gnostics, religious laws and injunctions, and sensitive political, social, educational and moral issues. Imam Sajjad has mentioned all these issues in the form of prayer and supplication.
Prayer at the time of hardship and sad events, prayer for fulfilling needs by God, prayer for parents, prayer for children, prayer for the border guards, prayer for neighbors and friends, prayer for rainfall after drought, prayer for averting enemies’ stratagem are some of these prayers.
Sahifa Sajjadia has been translated into various languages such as Farsi, English, French, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian, Spanish, Portuguese, Bosnian, and Albanian. The English version can be accessed via the following link:
