Dhaka University chancellor: Iran’s scientific progress valuable capacity for cooperation / Historical status of Farsi language in Bangladesh

Pars Today – Chancellor of Dhaka University (Bangladesh), pointing to Iran’s rich cultural and civilizational past record, praised the country’s scientific progress.
Seyyed Reza Mirmohammadi, Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangladesh, met and conferred with the new Chancellor of Dhaka University, Niaz Ahmad Khan, during his visit to the university on Tuesday. According to Pars Today, Niaz Ahmad Khan, referring to historical and cultural commonalities of the two nations and the past record of Iranian rich culture and civilization, said, “The scientific and technological breakthroughs of the Islamic Republic of Iran have created precious capacity for further cooperation and expansion of the level of cultural, scientific and educational relations of Iran and Bangladesh.”
Dhaka University chancellor, called for enjoying this capacity by both sides and added, “We are intent to develop Dhaka University and promote it scientifically and educationally. In this course, we are interested in relation and cooperation with countries like Iran which stands in a high level of science and technology.”
Iran’s cultural attaché, for his part, said, “Due to long record of spread and recognition of the Farsi language in Bangladesh, as a part of the Indian Subcontinent, and existence of thousands of Farsi words in the Bangla language, the Iranian cultural mission has paid special attention to the programs and educational-research activities of the Department of Farsi Language in Dhaka University.”
Mirmohammadi added, “This year, two of the scientific board of this department have been sent to Iran for attending the 20-day course of scientific enhancement and several scientific sessions and programs have also been held with the participation and cooperation of the two sides in the department.”
Mirmohammadi stressed, “A scientific session will be held on the occasion of the day for marking noted Iranian poet, Nezami Ganjavi, in the coming days by Iran’s cultural mission with the cooperation of the Farsi Language Department of Dhaka University. The Iran chamber will also be inaugurated at the department on the same day.”
