Pars Today – The Kremlin’s spokesman described the aim of holding the London summit on increasing financial aid to Ukraine as Europe’s effort to continue the war.
On Sunday, March 2, 2025, a meeting was held in London with European leaders to discuss peace in Ukraine, concluding with the presentation of a UK-France proposal for a temporary ceasefire.
According to Pars Today, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, said on Monday that the agreement reached by European leaders at the London summit was not aimed at achieving peace but rather at continuing the war. He added that constructive initiatives are urgently needed to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Peskov emphasized that if Europeans can persuade Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, to negotiate, they deserve praise.
UK: The US role in Ukraine peace is vital
Also, Keir Starmer, the British Prime Minister, expressed concern on Sunday after hosting an international summit on the future of the Ukraine war and stressed Europe’s role in ensuring the continent’s security. He described the public disagreement between the US and Ukrainian presidents as concerning, adding that without Washington’s firm support, lasting peace in Ukraine would remain unattainable.
Medvedev: London summit was a ‘Russophobic gathering’
Meanwhile, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, called the informal meeting of European leaders in London a “gathering of Russophobes.” Medvedev added: “The anti-Trump Russophobes gathered in London to pledge loyalty to the Nazi dwarf in Kyiv… They want to fight until the last Ukrainian soldier.”
Russian official: London summit won’t restore Zelensky’s lost honor
Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, recently stated that the London summit would not restore the lost honor of Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, following his talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House. This Russian official noted: “The London summit will not save the Nazi leader (of Ukraine). The result is zero.”
Hungary: Outcomes of London summit are dangerous
Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian Prime Minister, recently described the European leaders’ meeting in London as dangerous, stating that they decided to continue the war in Ukraine and pressured the country to do so. Orbán said: European leaders in London decided to continue the war instead of choosing peace. This is bad, dangerous, and wrong.
