Pars Today – The foreign media department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran emphasized that the arrest of an Italian journalist was due to violating the laws of the Islamic Republic, and the Italian Embassy in Tehran has been informed of the case.
The foreign media department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran announced in a statement that “Cecilia Sala”, an Italian citizen who travelled to Iran with a journalist visa on December 13, 2024, was arrested on December 19 on charges of violating the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Pars Today, the statement noted that the case of “Cecilia Sala” is currently under investigation, and it was stated that the arrest of the Italian journalist was carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations, and the Italian Embassy in Tehran has also been informed.
The foreign media department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran emphasized that the arrested Italian journalist has been provided with consular access, and she is also in phone contact with her family.
