Pars Today- British news agency, Reuters, reported about the dire living conditions of Syrian refugees once they return home after the downfall of Bashar Assad government.
Reuters made it clear in its report that the tough living conditions in Syria after 13 years of war has frustrated those who come back. According to Pars Today, quoting from ISNA, Reuters presents the accounts of a Syrian refugee called, Ahmad al-Sheikh, who says, “Many persons, like him, have been browbeaten with seeing the realities of life in a war-ravaged country.”
Ahmad al-Sheikh, 35, had left his house in Aleppo for Turkey 8 years ago. But, now, he says seeing his home, “I was shocked seeing the catastrophic situation which was beyond my expectations.” He said that there is almost no internet connection and water and power are also often cut.
Reuters continues that NATO member, Turkey, has played as a dealer of power in the recent crisis in Syria where the armed opponents, led by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, dominated Damascus. Turkey has appeared with economic and diplomatic influence on al-Jolani who is the head of the new government in Syria.
Reuters wrote on the issue, “The presence of nearly 3 million Syrians in Turkey has turned into a critical political problem. Many of them are now facing a wave of anti-migrant sentiments in Turkey as they are considered as uninvited guests. Thus, some of them, immediately after deposing of Assad from power by rebels, rushed to the borders.”
Kadri Güngörür, Director of Social Welfare of Society of Refugees in Turkey, referring to the complaints of these refugees on health and medical services shortage, said that some families have now changed their mind and want to leave Syria.
The report continues that Ahmad al-Sheikh was among those who were eager to go back to Syria as soon as hearing the news of Bashar Assad’s downfall and rebels’ control over Syria as he dreamt of rebuilding his house in Aleppo. But, after witnessing the miserable living conditions and shortage of job and educational opportunities, he is frustrated and desperate.
According to the Syrian sources, the rebels’ coming to power in the country, has not only worsened the conditions, it has also given rise to various crimes like murder and pillage across the country.
Syrian sources have just announced that %90 of realities don’t receive coverage on the mass media. These sources say that aggressions against minorities have been intensified by terrorists particularly on the coasts. Mehr news agency had just quoted from Almaalouma website that an abduction, act of terror or looting occurs in Syria every 10 minutes.
