Tehran determined to aid Africa’s development; Africa welcomes Iran’s cooperation

Pars Today – The Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced holding of the third Iran-Africa economic cooperation summit and the 2025 expo in early next year (Iranian calendar).
Mohammad Reza Aref, the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with heads of African diplomatic missions in Tehran, stated that developing economic and trade relations with the African continent is one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy.
According to Pars Today, Aref added that organizing the third Iran-Africa economic cooperation summit and the 2025 expo in early next year (Iranian calendar) is on the agenda of the 14th government. 
Aref emphasized that enhancing comprehensive cooperation with the African continent in bilateral, multilateral, and regional frameworks is a priority, noting: Given the highly valuable capacities both sides possess, synergy and collecting all resources and capabilities can better contribute to the development of relations and service to our peoples.
Baqaie: Iran’s determination is focused on strengthening ties with Africa
Esmaeil Baqaie, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a message on the social media platform X: The Islamic Republic of Iran, as an observer member of the African Union, congratulates the successful holding of the 38th African Union Summit on February 15 and 16, 2025, and wishes success to the new rotating president of the union (from Angola), the new chairperson of the African Union Commission (from Djibouti), and his deputy (from Algeria).” Baqaie added: “The recent meeting of the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran with ambassadors of African countries residing in Tehran reflects Iran’s resolve to strengthen ties and expand cooperation with African nations in various fields of mutual interest.”
Iran-Sudan joint economic commission to be held
Gholamreza Nouri, Iran’s Minister of Agriculture Jihad, in a meeting with Ali Yousuf Ahmad Al-Sharif, Sudan’s Foreign Minister, in Tehran, referred to the convening of the two countries’ joint economic commission in the first week of May, stating that Iran is ready to share the results of its century-long research in plant and livestock breeding with Sudanese researchers.
South Africa welcomes nuclear cooperation with Iran
Gwede Mantashe, South Africa’s Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, a key advocate for the development of nuclear power in the country, said that South Africa needs assistance from countries like Iran and Russia to advance its nuclear energy technology. Iran, Russia, and South Africa are members of BRICS.
Expansion of media cooperation between Iran and Niger
Seydou Zataou Ali, Niger’s Ambassador to Tehran, met with Ahmad Norouzi, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) World Service, to discuss various issues, including the expansion of media cooperation between the two countries. In this meeting, Ahmad Norouzi expressed hope that these discussions would contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Niger in the media sector.
